South L.A. among communities awarded state grants for climate projects

(Reuters) – An East L.A. housing project, a state prison in San Bernardino County, a neighborhood in Santa Clarita that has become one of the hardest-hit areas for wildfire in California, and a Southern California beach where people are battling the rising sea levels were among the projects announced on Monday that received funding from the state’s first-ever Climate Action Fund for climate mitigation projects.
