Dan Snyder ‘Needs to Be Removed,’ Says One N.F.L. Owner
New Orleans Saints owner Tom Benson was among the NFL owners who said they would not vote to approve the sale of an N.F.L. team should it be offered to Donald Trump.
“I don’t think he needs to be removed at this point,” Benson said Tuesday. “The only thing I’d like to see is a different owner that would run a better team.”
Mr. Trump has declined to say whether he’d purchase an N.F.L. team, but he told reporters last month that the league’s owners wouldn’t make him an offer.

The New Orleans Saints are in negotiations with a new owner, but they’ve met resistance from owners who say the team has too many black players.
Benson said he believes the team needs a black owner, but doesn’t want to force that person on the team. He also said he believes the team will be better off if there’s another owner.
“If there’s somebody that’s really smart that would take the best care of the team and wants the best for the team, it will benefit the community,” he said. “If people look at it and say, ‘Well, all the players are black, he’s the only guy that’s black on the team,’ if somebody came along that would do that, I’d love for it to happen.”
